Carmine Galassi Head Designer

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in landscape design, Carmine combines deep expertise with a passion for transforming both rural and urban spaces into thriving, sustainable environments. After Graduating UNI and awarded dux in horticultural science in Pretoria, Carmine furthered his studies in 2005 the UK, specialising in landscape architectural design. Growing up on a farm he had early entry into the industry, along with a position as a tutor in garden design, provided him with a unique, practical insight into how landscapes evolve and flourish.

Throughout his career, Carmine has taken on diverse roles within various projects, garden construction, managing client relations, project budgeting, conceptual sketches, CAD visualizations, detailed construction drawings, and project management. His versatile skill set allows him to foresee potential challenges during design and construction, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.

Carmine’s international portfolio spans projects in the UK, Malta, India, Africa, and the USA, where he has focused on restoring landscapes affected by floods, droughts, and other environmental challenges. As a strong advocate for organic farming and permaculture, he seamlessly integrates these principles into his designs, offering innovative, sustainable solutions for each site.

Beyond his design expertise, Carmine has hands-on experience in plant propagation, nursery management, and practical labor such as bricklaying, timber work, and operating machinery. This grounded experience enhances his ability to create designs that are not only visually compelling but also functional and sustainable.

At the heart of Carmine’s design philosophy is a deep respect for the natural landscape. He believes in working with the land’s inherent form and rhythms, weaving natural elements into his designs rather than imposing artificial structures. His approach promotes harmony between the built and natural environments, creating spaces that are both beautiful and ecologically balanced
